Sunday Junior Curling Program

Registration will open August 1st, 2026

The Ellerslie Curling Club's Sunday Junior Curling Program is designed for youth ages 8–18, welcoming curlers of all skill levels—from those trying curling for the very first time to experienced players looking to continue developing their game.

The program runs Sundays from 10:45 AM – 12:00 PM throughout the season. Our goal is to provide a fun, welcoming, and supportive environment where participants build confidence, improve their curling skills, make new friends, and enjoy the game.

Our coaches work with curlers of all skill levels, helping each participant grow in a fun, safe, and encouraging environment.

During the first two weeks of the program, our coaching team will assess each participant's current skill level and place them into the most appropriate training group. This ensures every curler learns at a pace that matches their experience while continuing to be challenged and supported.

Throughout the season, participants will develop:

• Delivery and sweeping techniques
• Strategy and gameplay
• Teamwork and sportsmanship
• On-ice etiquette and curling fundamentals

What to Bring

Participants should bring:

• A CSA-approved helmet if they are new to curling (hockey helmets, bicycle helmets, or curling-specific protective headwear are acceptable)
• Clean running shoes (for on-ice use)
• Warm, comfortable clothing that allows for easy movement
• A gripper (required; one may be included with registration)

Equipment Available to Use

Don't have curling equipment? No problem! The club has brooms and step-on sliders available for participants to use during each session.

Toques, grippers, gloves, and other curling equipment are available for purchase at the Ellerslie Curling Club or through other retailers.

Program Information

• Ages: 8–18 years
• Experience: No experience necessary. Beginners to experienced curlers are welcome.

Fees

• Registration Fee: $320.00
• GST (5%): $16.00
• Curling Alberta Fee: $22.00
• Total Registration Cost: $358.00

Registration includes instruction, the use of club brooms and step-on sliders during each session, and our Year-End Celebration. An optional Christmas Fun Day will also be offered during the season for participants who wish to attend.
